About usWe are a highly motivated cluster of four schools with a shared focus on culture, creativity, collaboration and achievement. Our focus is to strengthen the pedagogy and the practice in each of our schools, in particular culture, creativity and connecting through learning opportunities.
Our four schools are located in Mangere within close proximity of each other and serve ethnically diverse communities. Pacific students make up 73% of the student population, 20% are Maori, 5% are Asian and 2% are Pakeha. Our schools are Jean Batten Primary School, Mangere Central School, Nga Iwi Primary School and Sir Douglas Bader Intermediate. Our collective schools consist of approximately 1525 students. We are all new members of the NZ Pasifika Principals Association and are participating in the Tautai o le Moana Leadership pilot with the MOE. Their Vision is to “strengthen the capability of leaders to improve outcomes for Pasifika learners and contribute to culturally sustainable practices across Aotearoa New Zealand”. |
